Branding and Logo Development

Rocket is up and away.

Project Details:

With the launch of America’s newest rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS), NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center recognized the need for a unified messaging brand and style guide. Previously, departments operated independently without a cohesive visual identity linking their efforts. Our team was tasked with developing a new logo and comprehensive style guide to ensure consistent branding across all SLS internal and external communications.


The logo was inspired by the SLS silhouette and symbolized the rocket’s impressive 5.5 million pounds of thrust needed to lift 154,000 pounds of payload into space. We established a bold color palette featuring black, orange, gray, and white. The style guide included sample layouts for collateral such as advertisements, folders, video graphics, and more.


The project was a success, with all SLS departments adopting the unified messaging brand. NASA received a complete branding package—including logos, style guidelines, and templates—that empowered them to create and manage consistent, professional materials moving forward.
